As it whispers my name in adoration

Or the way you look in the morning
Half asleep and vulnerable and shy

Or the second time
Or the last time
Not even then.
Listen to me carefully

And beyond
I will not love you for all that you are
Nor accept you for all of your innocent flaws.
I cannot love you.
